Sitka recap and awards: 30 year anniversary of District 5010 (Thank you, Marty Metiva) 30 year anniversary of women in Rotary 100 year anniversary of the Rotary Foundation 150 year anniversary of the treaty for the purchase of Russian Alaska How good it was to see some of our eClub members face-to-face, and catch up with old Rotarian friends. Understandably, not everyone was able to attend. The eClub had a great morning meeting! While President Julie was unable to attend do to some other commitments, Past-President George conducted the meeting well (I think he’s done this gavel-passing before). President-Elect Sharon put in some personal touches – like pin choice, and “coffee & cake” that made the meeting feel festive and special. Many thanks to those who made the logistics and set-up happen! Also, our Friendship Table looked great! Among the awards/pinnings at the meeting were: Sue Foley Volunteer Award to Doran Powell Foundation Giving Challenge (to the club!) for 100% of the members contributing (Good job, Foundation Chair, Sharon!) Paul Harris+6 (+7 even?) for Sharon and Al Durtka Paul Harris 1 for Brian Shimek and Floyd Shilanski Paul Harris Society recognition for Wanda Cooksey, George Frushour, and Sharon and Al Durtka Major Donor Recognition for Tom Nicolos 49 years of perfect attendance to Leo Rasmussen Officer pins for the incoming board Passing of the gavel from Julie (George) to President-Elect Sharon Many thanks to all who attended, including special and honored guests Nancy Nicolos, Pat Frushour, and Al Durtka; our eClub mentors Marty Metiva and Terri Hall; our DG, DGE, AG, multiple PDG, club presidents, and fine individuals all around. |
